While looking for information the other day, I ran across a great article from Scholastic, How to Prepare Your Kids for a New Sibling, that had some tips that I wanted to share with you.  The article is about using books to prepare children for big events or events that may be tough for them.  The article mainly focused on the arrival of a new sibling and gave four tips for using books to prepare your child.  Here are the tips: Visit your local library to find children’s books on the topic of a new baby, start reading these books to your child as soon as you feel comfortable, you may want to pre-read these books before you share them to make sure they are the perfect fit for your family, and once you find the perfect books, read them often.  And lastly, don’t stop once the sibling has arrived.  There are books to help foster children through different issues that a child might face with a new sibling such as jealousy, sharing, or just having fun with a new baby.  A great title we have to get you started is There is Going to be a New Baby by John Burningham.
